Permission Navigation Not working get undefined.

When I try to assign permissions on a the navigation folder on the
site tab for anonymous user. I click on the view permission under
anonymous and click on inherit grant button it goes to undefine and
does not go to anything else unlike the online seminar. could someone
help me maybe i am doing something wrong. I am using fortress 5.0. Any
help would be nice.
