Michael,

Although a few veterans can easily get along by searching their email 
archives, I believe a lot of people would like to see a complementary 
version of this list where topics are organized, so they can interact 
with older messages,  and where they can get other information like CMS 
news feeds/aggregation, perform searches, etc.

So I have spent a while selecting a community software package (drupal) 
and harvesting some of the better messages from cms-list to seed a new 
website - http://www.cms-forum.org.

It will allow some of the more experienced cms-listers to become 
creators of forums and topics, moderators of posts (rating them as does 
Slashdot, so the average visitor sees the best stuff up front), and 
perhaps columnists with their own weblog presence at CMS Forum.

Anyone can join, and lurkers can hide behind the Anonymous poster. The 
system hides email addresses a bit better than Mailman software.

The challenge for us is to coordinate cms-forum.org and cms-list.org so 
they complement one another.

We are researching drupal's mail list integration capabilities..

I hope you like http://www.cms-forum.org and find it useful. Thanks for 
suggesting it. Now I hope you and other cms-listers will criticize it 
and help us hammer it into shape.
