Matthew, Thank you for writing this article. FYI, I've often had consultants who worked for these large firms tell me in private that the backchannel 'incentives' for promoting given products are substantial and that for that reason they would _never_ recommend an open-source alternative, no matter how appropriate. But this is the first time that I've 'seen it in print', as they say.
