Ummm... 3.1.4 you said... Wow quite an old release... Let's say that there 
were some severe bugs that have been fixed (full refactoring of the move 
feature) in Jahia 4.0.x. Also some bugs in the permissions after some moves 
if I remember correctly. You may try to run a Jahia Doctor (on a backup of 
course) and see if it can solve your issue. Else, in all the cases, I can 
only strongly recommend to migrate to the latest stable edition.
