RE: PowerPoint files in Private area using IE

Mmmh I don't know... If the client don't accept anonymous access on a 
distant application server, it is difficult to fix it from the server 
side... :-(

Looks like a bad security feature from IE which works fine under Firefox... 
Perhaps try to write to Microsoft ;-)
