you may experience what we call "orphean" pages, for instance
you add a page Y from a containerlist in page X, then you change the
template of page X and the new template does not contain the same
containerList definition, you will end up with a "orphean" Y
page which is not linked anymore from another page, so you can't delete
it. if the page doesn't show up when you open the workflow engine, this
is probably the case.

You can either go in the database to delete the pages (if you know what
your are doing, if you have a backup of the db and if you are sure of the
pid of these pages) in the jahia_pages_data table, otherwise the less
error-prone way would be to just uncheck the "available" box in
the "manage template" option of the Jahia administration. That
way the template will not show up anymore in the drop down list when
adding a new page.

Hi all

I am trying to delete the unnecessary templates (from the dropdown menu)
but am having some problems. For example this is the error message I get
when trying to delete one of the templates:

XYZ is still used by some pages, followed by a list of three pages.

The pages listed are not in the sitemap. I have deleted all the except
for the homepage and this is still happening. I’ve work-flowed, restarted
jahia but nothing.

How do I delete a template that is no longer needed?
