Hello again, I fixed it!!!  :^)

Just after I sent my e-mail to this list, I had a thought about the
jahia.xml file (found in tomcat/conf/Catalina/localhost) and how it relates
to renaming the context.  I renamed it to portal.xml, and changed the
references to 'jahia' in that file to 'portal', and now all is well.  I
would recommend that someone update the FAQ with this important piece of
information.
