Thanks Philippe - it works :-))) 

We enabled the rewrite part in the httpd.conf file. Another error was that 
we where using jdk 1.5 and apparently there are some trouble when 
compiling jsp pages (be aware of the tomcat/work directory where compiled 
classes are cached - just delete them all).

Ok that helps a bit, adding connection_pool_size to something (big) 

worker.list=jahia
