2 main navigations

I am currently having an issue with making two primary navigations.  I
want to have a top navigation available on every page created and I want
to have a left navigation available to those who log in (this nav would
also be available on every page once the user is logged in).  The issue
I'm having is with the pageLevel attribute (I think) in the
<content:absoluteContainerList> element.  I noticed that for the main
nav that is in the prepackaged templates (main_menu.inc) that
pageLevel="1".  If I set the pageLevel to "1" in the left navigation I'm
using, and go in to add a page for that navigation using the Jahia
interface, I get a "No Field to edit." in the pop window for creating a
new page.  If I set the pageLevel to "2", it will only make that
navigation available for the current page I'm adding those pages to and
their "child" pages.  Is there any way possible to have two main
navigations available to every page?  If someone could let me know, it
would be greatly appreciated.
