Template Migration from Jahia 4.04 to 4.5

Hi all, we are planing to change the look of our web site by implementing a new set of templates together with a web design company. We are still running on Jahia 3.0 and i tried to migrate the templates to the new version 4.04, but its quite difficult because the template mechamism changed a lot from jahia 3.0 to jahia 4.0. Can anyone tell me if i can develop the templates under Jahia 4.04 and use them under Jahia 4.5 without having to redesign all the templates? or should we wait untill Jahia 4.5 is available?? We want to begin as soon as possible and later on we want to run on Jahia 4.5.
