ldap users [Our Ref:CPT080A1]

I have two questions about users and groups.

I have an LDAP store, containing my application users - I still have the 
jahia_db provider active, containing the root user as well as well as 
group information; I don't currently store any group information in the 
LDAP provider.

Question - can I link my LDAP users to my groups? I can create/delete 
groups fine - and the admin tool lets me select LDAP users to put in my 
groups, but the changes don't stick when I save.

Also, if I link users to groups by inserting records in my database, how 
can I force Jahia to update its user cache? The changes don't appear in 
Jahia until I restart.
