The problem with the import is that there is no XML format :) Basically 
Jahia most of it's content in a database. The way people that have 
imports need currently do it is to use advanced templates that uses the 
Jahia API to create content from XML files. The XML import format can be 
anything, and it is then mapped to Jahia content objects by making API 
calls. As Stéphane said we have discussed this extensively in previous 
mails to this list and the dev_list, so please look in the archives.
