I am as well wondering if anyone has implemented similar functionality in a
portlet (integrating an existing Java application of this type) -- similar
to what you guys did with Jahia/JForum 2.0
(http://www.jahia.org/jahia/Jahia/site/jahia_org/pid/509). It will be nice
to have full blogging functionality built-in, though...

We are currently working on that right now... A blog template will be
included in the next minor release of Jahia (Jahia 4.1 = out this month).
We will try to support the Blogger API and the MetaWeblog API + manage
categories, user comments, RSS feeds of each blog and trackbacks
(http://www.movabletype.org/trackback/beginners/) ... but let's see if we
have the time to do all these features until release of Jahia 4.1 (else this
will come later) ... So in all the cases at least a basic blog template in
Jahia 4.1 ;-)

Cheers,
Stéphane
