this is due to the synchronization of the workflow meta data between the 
authoring and live areas. For more information, see the following bug 
report:

There are various approaches to get rid of the problem, but unforunately 
none of them seems to be trivial. The next major version will hopefully 
get rid of the multiple areas concept.
