Maven : impacts of the folder structure

Hi,

As I try to have a working Lenya 2.2 (current trunk), I have a question 
about the folder structure.

Here we have org.apache.lenya.module.ModuleX that is really verbose, we 
have tons of folder under trunk/

what is the impact of creating subfolder like core & modules ?
