Another observation:

Running the test suite in a directory whose pathname
contains whitespace triggers a xalan bug:

  https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/XALANJ-2461

Maybe we should add a note in the Release notes?

Apart from that, I believe that all open issues have been dealt with, and we can 
proceed with the release.
