Don't know. I guess most people are just not interested in paying for 
software.

I would say at least around ~10.000 EUR if this is to be paid the 
"regular" way (contracting SKYRIX AG).

No, it is not inherently difficult, but at least two weeks of work. 
Which is not that much.

I don't think so, I'm pretty sure that this will be contributed or 
sponsored sooner or later.

While EUR 10.000 or 20.0000 is certainly a lot money for you as an 
individual or for a small company, its actually very cheap compared to a 
closed sourced groupware license which is for a 100 account installation 
at least something like EUR 3000.
So if we gather 4-5 customers from non ISO-Latin-1 countries, we are 
done ;-)

Anyway, as mentioned this may as well be contributed sooner or later. I 
have not yet given up the hope that someone from the GNUstep projects 
takes on a port.
