I don't mind trying to tweak some of the packaging scripts to work with new dependency names and submitting a patch, although I can't promise to do much more than that. Here are my initial observations of packages that have a new name/version in lenny. Are the lenny versions of these packages likely to be supported without code changes? etch -> lenny libobjc1 -> libobjc2 libldap2 -> libldap-2.4-2 libpq4 -> libpq5 The other etch packages I needed were drawn in by the four packages listed above. >> - is it safe to run the etch version on lenny? > > No idea. Probably not. Is there a set of regression tests I can run to discover if my install is good? I had a brief look at the logs while playing with the web interface, nothing immediately appeared to be broken or complaining. > >> - is it safe to run this version with Postgres 8.3 from lenny? > > Most likely yes. > In that case, it may be possible to tweak the Debian control file to depend on libpq5 instead of libpq4 -- OpenGroupware.org Users [email protected] http://mail.opengroupware.org/mailman/listinfo/users
