I've taken another look on this:

Apparently person.get doesn't work with a dictionary argument (it has 
some implementation for that, but I don't get what it is supposed to 
do, maybe Bjoern can explain it).

As far as I can see person.get can be considered deprecated. For 
searching use person.fetch/person.fetchIds and for retrieving 
individual items, person.getByNumber or person.getById.

This should be fixed in xmlrpcd v5.1.41.
