connect to zOGI without apache

Hi,

I'm having some trouble connecting to zOGI using curl.  I've established 
that the problem lies with the curl connection passing through a SSH 
tunnel.  This makes me think that it is something to do with how my Apache 
config may be re-writing URLs.  Or maybe it is a Defaults issue. 

If I make the curl request on the server it works.  If I make the curl 
request without going through the SSH tunnel it works.

Rather than tackle the Apache problem right now, I'm wondering if it is 
possible to connect to zOGI to make xml-rpc requests without going through 
Apache.

If anyone is more thorough and scientific than me, I'm open to 
investigating the Apache or Defaults issue.  However, it may just be 
simpler for me to remove Apache from the equation.
