I'm not caring about membership per sé, I'm just pointing out that 
someone is suggesting selectiveness in adding feeds to Planet Oscom, 
while doing the same while answering email. Yeah, it's a competitive 
world out there, and everybody has his own agenda. Given that fact, one 
can wonder what cross-project OSS communities can prevail unless 
they're focussing on infrastructure rather than end-user-facing 
functionality.

Let's be honest: the more important thing for Outerthought as an open 
source CMS player is that fact that we're able to run our own business 
successfully. To that end, I've been wondering how Oscom could have 
helped us in the past. I really don't know.

I agree with Seth's suggestion that a good, positive marketing message 
about open source towards future potential CMS buyers might be an 
important goal for an alliance of CMS vendors. Whether that alliance 
should be OscomNG or something else, and whether functional competitors 
are able to work in such an alliance, I really don't know, and I've 
been through some of these alliances already.
