A couple of months ago, I volunteered to spend some time contributing towards improving the membership: "Meaning, get everybody in that wants in and everybody out that wants out. The goal is to get enough mass in the existing entity to have legal votes on any changes." Just to be clear, this small first step isn't intended to be everything-that's-needed. The primary goal is to get enough of an active membership to actually vote on things...such as a new board, bylaw changes, whatever. This happens to be a week where I can do such a thing. After next Monday, I'm vaporized until mid-August. Thus, I propose something like the following: *** Note: This is only intended as a first-step, stopgap measure!! *** 1) Anybody that has participated in the OSCOM list in the last year, and would like to be a member, can ping me. 2) I'll be in IRC, in #oscom, as much as possible today through Monday. 3) I'm a member so I can do the recommendation thing as described in the bylaws. I can also bring the names to the board. 4) Finally, I'll email the current list of members and see if they are interested in remaining active. --Paul
