Unfortunately Lenya doesn't support this ;-) and I would be positively 
surprised if any other system would support it
resp. very interested myself which system can do this resp. how is being 
handled

I guess a "translation" would have to hold a reference to a master and 
checking on that master and as your pointing out
the reference should contain the version as well.
