[OSCOM] Another (late) offer to participate in the OSCom board

Hi everybody,

my name is Andrea Resmini, I'm Italian, I'm a doctoral candidate at the 
University of Bologna and I've just got back from a three-months period 
of research at JIBS, Jönköping International Business School in 
Jönköping, Sweden, where I will probably return next year (more work to do).

My research field is IA, classification and FL/OSS CMS (not necessarily 
in this order). I've been a teaching assistent at Politecnico di Milano 
and a speaker at a number of conferences (including the recent Italian 
IA Summit and the upcoming EuroIA). Recently I also started teaching 
Content Management Systems to post-degree students at a couple of 
different schools / institutes in Rome.
I'm married (have been for some thirteen years) and have a daughter who 
is six.

As for the board, the plain truth is that I really do not have a 
strategic plan of sorts: I've been lurking on the list for quite a long 
time now, and sometimes I definitely have had a hard time just figuring 
out what was going on (in this respect, I sure understand and share the 
idea that making OSCOM the organization more open and more transparent 
is a priority).

I have a vague idea that OSCOM should work along the lines of 
freedesktop.org and similar projects, 'lobbying' by means of white 
papers, guidelines, case studies, etcetera, to promote stardards 
(including better classification) and interoperability and to raise the 
level of attention given to law compliance issues (including 
accessibility, security and privacy issues), something which seems to 
interest very few designers / developers but which could possibly hinder 
(or prevent) the use of FL/OSS CMS in the public sector in the coming 
years, but that's not the point.
I think I could be useful mostly because I could devote a fair amount of 
time to OSCOM since most of my time is (and will be for the next three 
years) devoted to researching, in Italy and Sweden, in the field of 
FL/OSS CMS and I'm pretty good at those boring tasks that keep the 
machinery going.
