Thanks for the link, it's really helpful..
so i think for my requirement, i should be looking for a DMS rather than a CMS ..
as Oliver said it right, there is a overlap in CMS and DMS..but as i don't need have any requirement to edit the content thru my system..i think i should go for a DMS..(Most of the content is DOCs, Images and PDFs)..
Michael, thanks for the clear explanation on Slide and jackrabbit as i was very much confused earlier..
It would be great if some one can help me on some Java based Open source DMS..
