Thanks Eric,

This is very helpful.  I have been examining DSpace for a client that is 
looking for an open source collaborative workspace solution.  Their 
requirements are based on some of the principals having used IntraSpect 
(which was acquired by Vignette) in prior lives.  ERoom (now owned by 
Documentum owned by EMC) is another possibility.  The metadata focus of 
DSpace might be a little heavy for them.  The Zope based projects (Plone 
and Silva) seem very appropriate but they have a Java bias.  Thoughts?
