Hi, Tony and others, There are a number of other FOSS digital repositories that are designed primarily for academic use: D-Space ( http://www.dspace.org/ ) developed at MIT, sounds a lot like Fedora. It supports the OAI metadata harvesting protocol. dlbox ( http://dlbox.nudl.org/ ) "Digital Libraries in a Box" Splash ( http://www.edusplash.net/ ), an interesting distributed P2P solution from CANARIE in Canada. Splash is a personal repository linked to Pond, an institutional repository and to Pool, a central portal. Splash speaks a dialect of JXTA, as well as ECL (eduSource Communication Layer). Gateways can crosswalk to OAI, Lionshare and other protocols. Disclaimer: I haven't any personal experience with any of these. - Rob Tony Byrne - CMS Watch wrote: Someone stumped me recently by asking whether I knew of any open-source DAM projects. I've heard of fedora ( http://www.fedora.info/ ) and know that some people use traditional CM packages (like Zope) for basic media asset management. Am I missing any other ones with reasonably wide support?
