One related idea would be importing an existing non-managed web site, that is, a directory full of HTML. It might be possible to use similar code to import a static web site into the CMS as one that is JCR compatible. Or possibly, create a tool that can take a static web site, and make it JCR compatible set of files which can then be imported into any compatible CMS.
