final and most important bug: login

Ok, after going through the install and the process of customizing the site 
(and I have to admit that it's a lot faster now with all this modules and 
well organized configuration files), the most important issue I have so far 
is the Evil Looping Login Screen.
No matter what I do, the login screen loops back, sometimes even 3 times 
before actually allowing me to login. And this is putting "Remember this 
computer" or not while logging in.

Are there any teaks I'm missing?

The only out of normal thing I did is that instead of deleting the "god" 
account, I rename it to a different name and updated the password. I have 
not touch the class files or anything else.
