You *should* be able to extend either the base or Story class.  Except 
for the schema differences.  The Story_base.class has the sql queries in 
each method.  So probably of no use to use other tables.

yes.  The index.php is the public include file and admin.php for private.

There were some things spread out.  I've pulled these links into the 
wiki.  Hopefully they will clarify some.  Of course they might lead to 
more questions :)
