[Tiki-devel] How to work on different version with git

Hi !

Something like about a year ago I've had a discussion on the list and
some devs told me that they had many copy of the whole tree to do
development as they worked on more than one version at the same time.

May I give a little hint...

You create somewhere out of the repo a folder named *vendordep* and
under this folder you create the same amount of folder as you have Tiki
version you work on.

For example I got :

*vendordep* ->

    *18.8*

    *19.2*

    *21.4*

    *22.1*

Under each of these folder I create one named *vendor_bundled* and one
name *installer*

Example :

*vendordep* ->

    *18.8* ->

        *installer*

*        vendor_bundled*

*
*

I copy the files from *installer/composer_patches* to
*installer/composer_patches*

I copy the files from *vendor_bundled* to *vendor_bundled*

I go into the folder *vendor_bundled* and I run *composer install*

I repeat this for all the version I wanna use.

In my IDE I add a include folder to the version I am using.

"Et voilà" as we say in French or "Here you go!" as we say in English.

You now save some disk space and also sometime we forget to sync the
repository when we have many...
