Ah, ok, I understand, it makes sense (and sorry I didn't look properly yesterday, the global setting for codemirror was set to off as you say)

I wonder if any of these 3 potential improvements would make sense (or be worth the effort):

(1) new pref to disable codemirror in page view mode but allow to "Off (but switchable)"

(2) new pref to set codemirror lazy mode below each textarea, so that the user can click there to get the highlighting on per textarea where the interest is for that user?. See

(3) new codemirror lazy-load (like in images). Already implemented maybe elsewhere?
