Hello Jonny, Well yes that help to improve my actual SEO work. I will try to see how I can integrate it without too much duplication work for each page. Thank you. — Still the questions remain to improve Tiki itself: When using "Use each page description as a meta tag for that page.” (https://doc.tiki.org/Meta-Tags-Tab <https://doc.tiki.org/Meta-Tags-Tab>) it will set the header title and the header description with the same value (and so displayed on search engine results) 1/ The doc Improve the documentation and the preference description "Use each page description as a meta tag title for that page.” And the other help, tooltips accordingly. ( I will do) 2/ The issue - Keep it like this - Have a specific title and description for each page (kind of mini revamp as upgrade shouldn’t break existing Tikis) - Have a fall back (child of the preference), if "Use each page description as a meta tag title for that page.”, then “Use the Tiki description for the description of all pages" (optional, off by default) Bernard > On 12 Oct 2021, at 12:20, Jonny Bradley via TikiWiki-devel <[email protected]> wrote: > > Hi Bernard > > Not sure i follow, but you can set the page title meta tag from plugin list, like this: > > {DIV(class="d-none")}{LIST()} > {pagination max="1"} > {OUTPUT()}{display name="mytitle" pagetitle="y"}{OUTPUT} > {FORMAT(name="mytitle")}This is the page title, not the wiki page title{FORMAT} > {LIST}{DIV} > > From: > > https://doc.tiki.org/PluginList---Hacks-and-Fun#Set_the_Browser_Page_Title > > Does that help? > > jb > > > >> On 11 Oct 2021, at 09:11, Bernard Sfez via TikiWiki-devel <[email protected]> wrote: >> >> Hello, >> >> Working on better SEO for some of my Tikis and I’m quit happy with results this I keep improving. >> >> --- >> >> Context (in case something can be improved before to get the question): >> I have a Tiki23 multilingual. >> >> I started with a single page with translated strings. >> I use wiki page description as page title to avoid having a unique title for all my pages (they talk bout different things) >> I use descriptive page name. >> I use multilingual meta-tags. >> >> Results: >> - Google results were kin with the default language (nicely ranked) while other language were… omitted (I don’t check after the 3rd page of results). >> - It limited me in using proper and multilingual terms for different strings (title, page name, description, etc) that help to better rank the pages. >> - It arrived a page title was in one language and description in another (Google confusion?) >> >> >> So, I created then 3 pages, one for each language and filled the fields with strings for each languages. >> >> Sometime a search result show a page title and description in one language and on click the user land on a page in a different language or a page with the language site set differently to the page. >> I had to play a bit with i18n settings (testing required computer and browsers using different languages and location that never went on the site to be sure I had what a user or a crawler see the first time - before any personal choice) >> (Still under test) >> >> Results: >> - Google finds the page(s) for each language. >> - Title and Description are nicely displayed in the relevant language >> >> However, it happen often, the same title with the same description is displayed on Google results.
