Hi!

There's a problem with the allowed characters in anchor names. Only A-Z, a-z 
and 0-9 are allowed. First, a small issue. The Aname plugin and the
generation of anchors from headings cope differently with unallowed
characters. The Aname plugin replaces every sequence of unallowed characters
with one underscore. Whereas the generation of anchors for headings
completely deletes the unallowed characters.

For your information: Here, in the source code of the Aname plugin, is the
motivation for getting rid of the "unallowed" characters:

"the following replace is necessary to maintain compliance with XHTML 1.0
Transitional and the same behavior as tikilib.php and ALINK. This will
change when the world arrives at XHTML 1.0 Strict."

I think that both should handle it the same way. Preferably the way the
Aname plugin does it.


Now, there's a bigger, more important issue, when specifying links to
subsections of wiki pages: ((page|#subsection|label)).

When translating such a link to HTML, the subsection part should receive the
same treatment as the one, which the Aname plugin gives it. This way, you
could specify the normal, unmutilated subsection name and get working links.
You wouldn't need to figure out what the subsection will be called in the
HTML.


I hope I've made myself clear. Two places of the Tiki source code will have
to be modified: the anchor creation from the headings and the handling of
the subsection when generating HTML links from wiki links.
