Hi everyone,
As discussed in the task tracker, we're working on adding Lottie animation
support to Tiki through a new {LOTTIE} wiki plugin.
Task: https://avan.tech/item91280
Documentation: https://doc.tiki.org/Lottie+Integration
*What is Lottie?*
Lottie is a modern animation format using lightweight JSON files to render
vector animations. Unlike GIFs/videos, Lottie animations are small (KB vs
MB), scale perfectly, and support interactivity.
*Proposed Plugin*
{LOTTIE src=3D"tiki-download_file.php?fileId=3D123" loop=3D"true" autoplay=
=3D"true"}
*Library Evaluation*
Following our library selection process (
https://dev.tiki.org/How+to+pick+a+software+library),
I've analyzed the available options on https://dev.tiki.org/Lottie
*Recommendation*
I propose using @lottiefiles/dotlottie-web because:
- Official LottieFiles player with active maintenance (543+ releases)
- Supports both .json and compressed .lottie formats
- Web Worker support for better performance
The full analysis with pros/cons is available at:
https://dev.tiki.org/Lottie
Please share your thoughts, concerns, or alternative suggestions!
Best regards,
Mo=C3=AFse Nturubika
