It was finally fixed in master 9 months ago.

It is indeed a policy violation, both for the reasons you outline, and beca=
use we have=20
users that have tiki firewalled off the Internet.

But for some reason these specific changes took nearly a year of back and f=
orth to get=20
into master, and seem to still be cursed with multiple problems in the back=
port process,=20
and so far haven't made it to 27.x =20
