actually

{display name="wikiplugin_trackerprefill" format="wikiplugin" field1="42" value1="tracker_field_xxx"}

works fine... probably I tried using something like [...] 
value1="{display name="tracker_field_xxx"}" [...]

quite stupid actually... that's the whole point of using format=wikiplugin.

Never tried autosave so far, I'll take a look just for information.
