Hi Devs,
I try to upgrade a Tiki from ~Tiki13 *manual latest trunk* from November
2013 to *git* Tiki15 from August 2022
I also tried a manual downloaded daily build and newer versions with git.
The process of (re)installation fails, after the database connection is
established:
The tiki-install.php persistently falls back into the 'Tiki Installer
Security Precaution' state.
I can get this away only by deleting everything and restart from 0 with
a new checkout and database (backup of the original)
The message of the installer is as following:
"Tiki Installer Security Precaution
You are attempting to run the Tiki Installer. For your protection,
this installer can be used only by a site administrator.
To verify that you are a site administrator, enter your database
credentials (database username and password) here.
If you have forgotten your database credentials, find the directory
where you have unpacked your Tiki and have a look inside the db
folder into the local.php file."
I cannot access the old Tiki via the web anymore, but I have FTP access
and access to phpMyAdmin; I could download the database and I have FTP
access to all data.
Current state is, that a manual dailybuild installation failed and I
moved the database to a server where I have command line access.
Despite having a command line now, there is no joy and I am stuck at the
same point whatever I try.
Notes:
* On the original server I have no command line, thus I moved to
another server with the very same provider, where I have command
line access.
* There I did a checkout Tiki 15 from git and connected that to a
copy/backup of the original database.
* All composer dependencies are sorted (sh setup.sh option c and f)
* There was some problem with the utf-8 collation, that I could not
yet figure out:
-> all tables of the current import are in utf8mb4_unicode_ci,
-> whilst the original database was utf8_unicode_ci
-> still the installer (tiki-install.php) complains about the wrong
collation
* I changed the DB Engine from Mylsam to InnoDB for all tables, but
the installer still loses connection and does not get back to finish
the installation process
Thank you for any pointer to where to look, what I miss or where to find
a documentation. A solution would be a burner ;-) .
Any help or further question is appreciated ... I am on that since hours
now, whilst a usual Tiki upgrade can be done in a few minutes if it goes
well ... I feel stuck in the mud now.
Best regards
Torsten
