I guess this is, at least from a marketing perspective, the way to go: 
Offer a stable and tested release, anytime soon. So the interested 
users gets a real value for his download. I'm really looking forward to 
this.

Oho, listen up! Communicating the outcome isn't a forgotten task. 
However, I didn't dare to ask 'till now ;-)
