There is an interesting thread over at forrest-dev where Stefano,
Nicola and others are discussing the navigation (look for the
"Usability news website" thread).

The interesting point is that by using a different skin they can have
collapsible menus and bread-crumb-path.

The discussion seems to indicate that there is some desire to improve
the default skin to include these features.
