Hi!

Thanks, Nathan, for letter.

For users there are two problems:
1. unknowing,
2. heavy load from internet (20Mb)

[1]

In now's documentation - it's hard to understand how all work, and what
I must to do... (if I'am first-time-user of cocoon2)

I understand what hard to write about all technologies what using in Wyona.

Maybe - have one version WyonaCMS (for lite, st., pr. editions) but
differents tutorials. Tutorials oriented for concrete task (for users
who have different knowledge-level), and in this tutorials
step-by-steps discribe each step - what need, and what making.

Tutorials:
1. Lite
1.1. Make one-page site tutorial (i think this well be very popular :)).
1.2. Make more complex site with navigation menu tutorial.
  ...
2. Standard
2.1. Make site with xsp tutorial.
2.2. Make site with esql tutorial.
  ...
3. Professional
3.1. Make authentification in site tutorial.
3.2. Working with Work-flow in site tutorial.
3.3. Working with Revision in site tutorial.
3.4. Working with Sheduler in site tutorial.
  ...

(all this possible to make by degrees-grow-difficult, each next based
on previous)

What important for end-user? - result.
He want to make small steps - and see result.
He dont want to understant all what is in Wyona (by week) and then
make one page.

Also I think that useful will be function "WIZARD".
I.e. there is "Wizard" for projects: "site for offline", "site with user auth",
"site with sheduler" and so on (make possible to make different
project for self).

Steps (for example):
1. Open page "wizard" on them - list of projects (f.e. "simple site",
"site with users" ...)
2. Selecting project (f.e. "simple site"), go to next step.
3. Name project - user entering name of project, "next".
4. Wizard pages:
4.1. List with variant of oriented menu: top, left, right...
4.2. Variant of site-design: "fantasy", "techno", "simple" ...
  4.3. Enter copyright information...
  4.4. ...
  4.5. Finish.
5. Generate xml + xslt pages (blank), and discribe what user must to
modify.
6. User may already see site, but with blank information.
7. User - modify XML page for self tasks.
8. User generate offline
9. User upload files to remote machime.
10. User happy.

I see what in Wyona's 20Mb, Cocoon take up 90%.
i.e make download ~5 Mb (for ordinary internet-user with dealup) is
impossible.

Solution - have all on CD, and market them.

CD - 600Mb

JDK:
jdk1.x (win) - 50Mb
jdk1.x (Linux) - 50Mb
jdk1.x (FreeBSD) - 50Mb
jdk1.x (Mac) - 50Mb
jdk1.x (Solaris) - 50Mb
(and other OS ...)
Sum: ~ 300Mb

Programs:
Tomcat 4.x.x - 6Mb
WyonaCMS (core) - 20Mb
WyonaCMS (applications) - ??Mb
Sum: 26Mb + ??

(all with source)

Cost of this disk - is only material - ~$1
  + cost for write,
+ cost for people who working on disk.
result: ~$3 (or less or more)

all open-source, all legally, all may work on any platform (OS).
I think that this is to be demand.

This cd-disk may be buy(ed) and by beginner-user and by
high-skill-java-programmer.

And if also make paper-book about Wyona - it will be ideal :)
(but only for english-native people...)
and store cd in book.

Ilya

/ps: sorry for my beginner-english
