Cool, but lets differentiate between files we don't need to edit, and the files we should edit. >wyona-cms/sitemap.xmap > Needs to be edited to let the wyona-cms servlet know > that your new pub exists and the URI with which it > should be accessed. Copy the ethz-mat section and update the paths to >'test-site'. This sort of explanation should be merged with the tutorial.xml which was posted about recently. In fact the text of this email could probably be incorporated too. >wyona-cms/wyona/cms/pubs/test-site/docs/publication/doctypes/samples/* > This is where you should put example .xml files that can be > validated by your schemas. What are these samples used for? Oh I see. These samples are copied when creating new instances of each document type. For instance the university department ethz-mat example has groups, and persons as its main document types. We should say somewhere that the Ethz-mat example describes a university Department. The department has a number of groups, and staff are associated with a group. >wyona-cms/wyona/cms/pubs/test-site/docs/publication/doctypes/schemas/* > This is where your XML Schemas will go. I ask because there is presumably a one to one relationship, but the samples are spelt with an initial capital. That seems like an unecessary complication. If however they did have a one to one relationship and were named something.xsd and something.xml then perhaps we could have a script or any setting which tested that the examples satisfied the schemes. >wyona-cms/wyona/cms/pubs/test-site/docs/publication/menus/* > These files define the wyona menus that are used in the Admin and > Edit pages. They can be edited to reflect your site's structure. Aha - I was wondering what defined that.... Hmmm. I'm not sure I like the idea of a site structure defined in terms of menus. I'd much rather have something which defined the site structure, and thus determined the menus from that. But that is a discussion for another day. >wyona-cms/wyona/cms/pubs/test-site/resources/images/* > This is where the images for your web design will go. > >wyona-cms/wyona/cms/pubs/test-site/resources/styles/* > This is where the css for your web design will go. > >wyona-cms/wyona/cms/pubs/test-site/stylesheets/cms/not_published_yet.xsl > This is the file that will be shown when a user attempts to view > a 404. Um, surely a 404 is different from a "not_published_yet". The latter means that the file does exist but you can't see it yet, whereas the former means that the requested page does not exist. A 404 does not imply that there is a page which will become published. Hmmmm. I'm willing to be persuaded about this. >wyona-cms/wyona/cms/pubs/test-site/stylesheets/test/site/html-group-XOPUS.xs >l > Needs to be edited to reflect your schema(s). I assume this is for a different XML editor other than XOpus or the html-form one. "EditOnPro Editor (www.realobjects.de)" I doubt it is working. That's it for now. I'm too tired. I don't know much about the rest. Alex Openweb Analysts Ltd, London.
