Xaraya Core 1.2.0 Released

We are pleased to announce the release of Xaraya Core 1.2.0, a minor 
release offering many improvements and numerous bug fixes in the 1.x 
series.  1.2.0 is the most significant Xaraya release since 2005.

Instructions for new installs are included in the distribution files and 
via links in the installation script. For those upgrading, please make 
sure you check the distribution instructions in UPGRADE.txt or <a 
href="/index.php/documentation/586" title="Upgrading Xaraya 
">online</a>, and then run the upgrade script. There are no major 
template or database changes in this release, or changes in the 
configuration file.

Core version 1.2.0 includes a number of general improvements:

- Calls to deprecated functions in PHP 5.3+ haver been replaced
- Minimum PHP version moved to 4.4.7
- All template files now use the .xt extension by default (.xd is still 
supported)
- Module category "Global" renamed to "System"
- HTTPS URL's can be generated on demand
- Xaraya can now send 4xx and 5xx HTTP response headers as necessary
- A new dedicated Installer theme is included.  Xaraya_Classic can now 
be uninstalled
- Variant display modes in core module Admin screens have been eliminated.
- New theme CSS classes
- Less use of fieldset elements
- Inclusion of Tango style icons, including many unique to Xaraya
- Built-in support for JavaScript frameworks
- Xaraya now includes jQuery by default, as well as over 30 popular plugins
- jQuery used to add interface richness across the Core
- Almost completely unobtrusive JavaScript

This core release also includes a staggering 94 unique bug fixes, making 
it the most improved Xaraya release in the history of the project.

This release includes the Core, Base and Full distributions which have 
traditionally been released in the past.
