BitTorrent files available for download and distribution

There are now bittorrent [http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/] based
distributions available for download
[ http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=64578 ]
for the Xaraya 0.9.9 releases.

BitTorrent is a nice way to distribute (large) files from multiple
locations, thus spreading the bandwidth usage while maintaining the
authenticity of the files.

We've set up a so called origin point for the files distributed. I'm
planning on extending this setup to a service which can be used by
others to distribute Xaraya related files in the same way. This means
that you can create a distribution for a module, theme or anything other
related to xaraya and send this to us. We can then create a torrent
metainfo file for that distribution, after some sanity checking
obviously, put the distribution and torrent file on this system and make
it available for distribution.

The torrents available on sourceforge can be put on any website, so you
are encouraged to do this. They will automatically point to the
authenticated distributions on our systems (and their mirrors) There are

how to serve torrent files on your webserver.

If you really want to help, you could install a bittorrent point where
the complete downloads will also be available (a bittorrent peer), so
people downloading the distributions will have more available peers to
download from. This requires a stable server with continuous internet
connectivity and some server admin skills. There are several good
install instructions documents. The bittorrent homepage

is a good starting point for this. The more peers installed, the better
the distribution system works. We can help you set up a distribution
