      There was a bug in the notation resolver where a notation like:  $a[$b].c would fail. In fact, lots of mixed notations would fail.
      This changeset fixes this.
      As it turned out it wasnt something of a type of some sort, but a conceptual mistake in the resolving logic. 
      
      PLEASE TEST THIS THOROUGHLY!  The change will affect nothing as far as i can see, and i've tested all the notation shapes i could think of,
      but obviously this can break stuff bigtime if i made a mistake.
