You might want to peruse Mac OS X Hints (http://www.macosxhints.com) as well
as some of the forum sites like MacNN (http://forums.macnn.com).  For
troubleshooting issues, I'd recommend MacFixit (http://www.macfixit.com) and
for software updates/tracking/etc check out VersionTracker
(http://www.versiontracker.com).

Any cool software I'd recommend?  Well, for a nice system utility, Cocktail.
Meteorologist is a nice menu addon.  And CopyPaste is a great utility.  If
you like virtual desktops, Codetek has a virtual desktop app.  Do a search
for these on VersionTracker.
