Regular expression help?

I'm normally pretty good with using regular expressions to find things 
(using mostly HomeSite or UltraEdit, both of which use a POSIX flavor of 
REs). One problem has me stumped though:

I want to find input tags that do *not* have an id attribute.
(And select/textarea/button - but that's the same problem, of course; one 
control at a time is fine).

Suggestions anyone?
Or is it just not possible?

(I know I can translate POSIX to Perl flavor REs though the reverse is not 
_always_ possible; I can read both though, so I'm open to suggestions of 
both types.)
