That sounds like sessions not being closed fast enough. When a page is rendered, all sessions open for it should be dropped and resources freed. Unless you are hitting the general background noise of users accessing your site, in which case you will probably need to chuck 'em off before optimising/analysing etc. I don't know what the command-line tools are, but MyAdmin does a good job at providing access to the optimisation tools through its pointy-click interface. -- JJ
