I've been pushing the 2x developers to pull the cloak away from it for a 
long time.  Nothing has happened in the official 2x branch for months, 
but Marc has been making progress privately.

I believe 2x is the future of Xaraya, but making the transition from 1x 
will be a delicate process at all levels for everyone.  If 2x is going 
to be the future, then at some point 1x development must come to an end 
so that the collective effort of the community can be focused on one core.
