I see where you're going with this, but I have to ask, why can't we as a 
Project set a standard for web based applications Icons? Seems to me Tango 
has a pretty narrow focus, maybe we need to talk to the Tango people, see if 
they are interested in support web applications. If that isn't a major goal 
then we have an in to start a similar project for web applications.

I am in favor of switching to PNG for all icons, if need be we could use CSS 
rules to accommodate for IE6. Like I said I am in favor of this be it with 
Tango or our own solution.
